Tess Atie is an Aboriginal traditional owner of Nunthewoody, at the mouth of the Daly River, south-west of Darwin. In 2009 Tess established and continues to manage Nunthewoody Enterprises Pty Ltd, including Northern Territory Bird Tours. Tess has been one of Tourism Australia’s Indigenous Tourism Champions, a co-founder and Deputy Chair of the Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network and an advisor on Indigenous Economic Development to the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory.
Tess previously worked for many years as a Park Ranger at World Heritage Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, in national parks in the Darwin region and as a guide at the Territory Wildlife Park.
Tess is passionate about the advancement of opportunity, education, equity and justice for Aboriginal people, and promoting the development of Aboriginal businesses and skills.
Greg is the Head Guide and Business Manager of Northern Territory Bird Tours. With a lifelong interest in bushwalking, native plants, birds, wildlife and the arts, Greg holds a Bachelor of Resource Management from Charles Darwin University. From 1990 Greg was a Park Ranger at World Heritage Kakadu National Park and later Chief Ranger at Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.
In 2012 Greg joined Tess Atie at Nunthewoody Enterprises, providing administrative and logistics support for the company, as well as guiding with an emphasis on natural history and wildlife.
Greg is passionate about environmental management for the sustainable benefit of people, birds and other wildlife.
